BONFIRE NIGHT 2006
It's nearly upon us : only 2 short months to go. Gosh.
First the important news : executive decision is to hold it on SATURDAY 4th NOVEMBER, rather than on the 5th. This allows extra options, such as :-
* those who wish to to stay over can witness the smoking ruins on Sunday morning,
* others can simply have a lie in at home the next day,
* or perhaps grab a few extra hours of treatment.
This is of course a very special year, as our spiritual leader (Pyro Pete) is making his last appearance before heading off down the yellow brick road to Oz . So we need to make an even more fantastic effort to give him a send-off to remember !
In the spirit of previous years, I now throw this open to comments, additions and munitions.

Ah ah! I think I've now worked out how to add things to this blog - first attempt seemed to get lost in the ether somehow, silly bloggers indeed!
Yep, I am sorry to say that this will indeed be the last native (as opposed to flying-visit) appearance of the Austick-Bishop falange at a Bonfire night (sniff). So lets go out with a real bang (quite literaly)! At the end of the proceeding The Bat (or at least what is left of it) will be handed over to a 'safe pair of hands' (for a given meaning and value of 'safe' that is). So, let's get our thinking hats, bomb bonnets and conflagration caps on and generate some wild and wonderful (if not entirely practical) ideas.
Remember! Remember! The 5th (4th) of November! Gunpowder, Treason and Bat!

OK, by popular demand we are falling back to the old tried and tested forum for discussing Pyro Planning - see this link :
